Crarey receives contract extension, pay bump at FAMU

Earlier this week, Florida A&M’s Board of Trustees approved a two-year, $330,000 extension for the Rattlers’ head coach Patrick Crarey.

Crarey initially signed a one-year, $150,000 contract with incentives after the FAMU Board of Trustees questioned his experience, as this was his first NCAA Division I head coaching role. With the new deal, his salary now will rise to $160,000 in 2025-26 and $170,000 in 2026-27.

Crarey came to FAMU after leading NAIA At. Thomas University to a 61-27 record, two consecutive NAIA Tournaments, and three straight winning seasons. He also served as the head coach at Washington Adventist University (2010-2021).

This season, Crarey has led the Rattlers to a 10-12 record and 7-4 in SWAC play, winning seven of their last eight games.
