Crowley’s Ridge College has announced the addition of Tyler Parker to the Men’s Basketball Coaching staff for the upcoming 2014-15 season. Parker has been named as the coach of the newly formed Men’s Basketball Junior Varsity team and will also serve as the Assistant Coach to the Pioneers varsity basketball team.
Parker, a native of Huntsville, AL, joins the CRC staff after two seasons working with Head Coach Jim Sanderson and the men’s basketball team at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. Parker worked as a student assistant coach during the 2012-13 season helping to guide the Eagles to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament. Parker was promoted to assistant coach during the 2013-14 season.
Previous to his coaching duties, Parker was a four year letter winner for the Eagles men’s basketball program at Faulkner University from 2008-12. He played as a combo guard for the Eagles.
He played his prep basketball at Madison Academy in Huntsville where he was a four year varsity player and two year varsity starter. His teams captured three straight Alabama High School State Championships in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
“I am excited to add someone with the capabilities and work ethic of Tyler Parker to our basketball program,” said Crowley’s Ridge College Head Coach Chris Perkins. “He has a solid basketball background that will be a great addition to our programs growth here.”
