Charleston Southern men’s basketball assistant coach Brad Dobbels is leaving the program to pursue other professional opportunities in order to spend more time with his family, head coach Barclay Radebaugh announced on Thursday.
Dobbels, a 1989 CSU graduate, spent the last three seasons on Radebaugh’s staff and played an instrumental role in helping the Bucs to 51 wins during that time. The Bucs put together a winning season for the first time in 16 years during Dobbels’ first campaign in 2011-12, and followed up with the program’s first Big South regular season championship in 26 years in 2012-13.
"We’re very thankful for Brad and the many contributions he has made to our basketball program over the last three years," Radebaugh said. "Brad is a first-class person and an excellent coach, and has been a big part of our success. We wish him the best going forward."
A search for a new assistant coach will begin immediately.
