Reinhardt University Head Basketball Coach Justin Newton announced that he has promoted Edward Culpepper to Assistant Head Coach for the 2022-23 basketball season. Culpepper has been with the Men’s Basketball Program for several seasons serving as an assistant coach and head coach of the reserve men’s basketball.

Coach Culpepper had this to say about the promotion and the upcoming season, “I’m thankful to Coach Newton and our administration for this promotion and the opportunity to stay at RU. It’s a pleasure to work with our players and this staff on a daily basis. I believe in this program and I’m excited about our future.” 

Coach Newton is quoted saying, ” It’s always great when your able to retain some continuity on your staff and Coach Culpepper has been a staple in our program the last two years and has been a huge part of our program’s success and growth. I am excited for Ed to take on this new role and know he will help us take Reinhardt basketball to new heights.”

Culpepper is a graduate of Valdosta State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Education and served as a student assistant for the men’s basketball program. In 2021, Culpepper received his Master of Science in Sport Administration and Leadership from Reinhardt University while helping Reinhardt Men’s Basketball as an assistant.
