I can confirm that D2 Chadron State will name NAIA University of Sciences and Arts of Oklahoma’s Chris Francis as their new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.

Francis had been the head coach at USAO since 2015, where he led the Drovers to six NAIA National Tournament appearances. His teams also captured the SAC Tournament Championship in both 2017 and 2021, and he was named as the 2022 SAC Coach of the Year. This past season, Francis guided USAO to a 19-10 (14-8 SAC) record.

Francis will replace Shane Paben, whose contract was not renewed at Chadron State back in March.

An official announcement is expected sometime this week.
