I can confirm that former Coppin State and Southern University head coach Michael Grant will be named as the new head basketball coach at Allen University (SC). Allen, formerly an NAIA school, will be transitioning to the NCAA D2 level and competing in the SIAC.

Grant has spent 18 years as a head coach at the college level. In addition to his stints at Coppin State (2014-17) and Southern (2003-05), he has also served as the head coach at Stillman College (2008-14), and Central State (1996-2003). He has also worked as a D1 assistant at Cleveland State and Toledo.

This move is expected to be made official shortly.
