D2 Southern Arkansas announced earlier today that Logan Quinn had resigned as their head basketball coach and was headed for his “next opportunity in the National Basketball Association.” It sounds like he will be accepting an assistant role with the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G-League.
I have now heard from multiple sources that, SAU is moving quickly to replace Quinn, and they intend to name a new head coach this afternoon. I have heard that the choice will be Angelo State (TX) associate head coach Mark Rutledge.
Rutledge had been at ASU for the past two seasons, and was an assistant at Henderson State (AR) before that. Prior to his time at Henderson State, Rutledge served as a graduate assistant at Southern Arkansas. He played collegiately at Central Arkansas.
More on this move once it becomes official later today.
