I can confirm that the University of Charleston will hire James Long as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Long, a former guard at West Virginia and Charleston, WVa native, had most recently been the head coach at Davidson Day School in Charlotte. He also spent three seasons as the head coach at NAIA West Virginia Tech (62-21), and served on Bob Huggins staff as the video coordinator at West Virginia following his graduation.

Long will replace former head coach Dwaine Osborne who resigned after 11-seasons earlier this spring to become the associate head coach at Youngstown State.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
