I can confirm that D2 Western Oregon intends to make a change in leadership in their men’s basketball program, with an official announcement expected later tonight on the departure of head coach Wes Pifer.
Pifer had led the Wolves for the past five seasons, where he amassed a 50-84 (.373) record. His best season came in 2019-20 when he led his team to a 19-8 record.
Prior to his time at WOU, Pifer served at the D1 level as the associate head coach at Northern Arizona, and as an assistant at North Carolina Central.
More on this move once it’s made official.
