D2 NEWS: Dal Bon added to Clark Atlanta Basketball Staff

Alfred Jordan, Head Coach of the Clark Atlanta men’s basketball team has announced the addition of Tim Dal Bon to his coaching staff as an assistant coach. 

Dal Bon joins Clark Atlanta University after 3 successful years serving as the Head Coach at Albany Technical College, a Division I junior college in Albany, Georgia. 

While at ATC, Dal Bon led the Titans to an overall record of 53-26 in 3 seasons and back-to-back 21-win seasons. He recruited 11 All-GCAA selection players and four Division I signees. He also signed a National Junior College All-American, the first in program history. Under Dal Bon’s leadership, the Titans were known for their stout defense. In year one, ATC ranked 11th in the nation in steals and 24th in the country in defensive FG %. In year two, the Titans ranked 24th in the nation in steals and would go on to upset the no. 7 ranked team in the country. ATC received votes for six weeks to be nationally ranked in the NJCAA during the 21-22 season for the first time in program history. The Titans posted the best record in school history, 21-9, in his final season. ATC would rank 24th in PPG allowed, 38th in steals, and 43rd in opponent field goal percentage. 

Dal Bon was an assistant coach for one year at Albany Technical College before becoming the Head Coach. In his first year with the program, the Titans felt his presence immediately, Albany Tech finished the season 18-12 overall. The 18 victories were a 7-win improvement over the previous season (11-17).

Before coaching, Dal Bon was no stranger to the basketball community. he played at Tallahassee Community College, earning an Associates’ Degree in General Studies in 2016. 

Upon graduation, he went on to play at Valdosta State University, where he helped VSU to a 26-6 record which featured a Gulf South Championship, a Top-25 Ranking, and an appearance in the NCAA II Tournament.

Dal Bon is a Fort Myers, Florida native and a Latino Association of Basketball Coaches (LABC) member.
