D2 NEWS: Parkside, Reigel Part Ways

Parkside Athletics and Luke Reigel have parted ways, concluding his 23-year tenure as head coach of the Parkside Men’s Basketball program.

“On behalf of Ranger Athletics and the entire UW-Parkside community, we thank Coach Reigel for his dedication and leadership over the past two decades,” said Director of Athletics Adam Schemm ’08. “Luke’s commitment to our student-athletes, the University, and Parkside Athletics has been unwavering. He will always be a beloved member of the Ranger Family, and we wish him and his family all the best.”

During his 23 seasons, Reigel guided the Rangers to 336 wins, seven NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, and the program’s only NCAA tournament victory. He departs as the program’s all-time wins leader and a four-time conference Coach of the Year.

Beyond the court, Reigel served as a respected ambassador for UW-Parkside and helped shape the identity of the men’s basketball program. Parkside is grateful for his years of service and the lasting impact he has made on the University and its student-athletes.

Parkside will begin a national search immediately for its next head coach to lead the program into its next chapter.
