I can confirm that D3 Alma College (MI) will name Case Western Reserve University assistant Mike Fitzpatrick as their new head basketball coach.
In 2021-22, Fitzpatrick was part of a squad at CWRU that advanced to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time in program history. The Spartans (20-7, 8-5 UAA) won two games in the tourney as they made it to the Sweet 16, before bowing out in an OT loss to UMHB. Also, this past season’s 20 wins were a program-best, as were the eight conference victories.
Fitzpatrick had been on the Spartans staff since 2018. He has also worked as an assistant at Susquehanna University as well as his alma mater Arcadia University.
Fitzpatrick will replace Ryan Clark who resigned back on April 22nd.
An official announcement is expected later this afternoon.
