Following-up on my Tweet from last night…
Mike Miller will step down as the head coach at D3 Alvernia University after 19-seasons at the helm, and be replaced by current assistant coach Mike Miller, Jr (his son).
Miller compiled a 315-178 (.639) during his tenure at AU, including a 21-9 (12-4) mark last season. His teams advanced to six NCAA tournaments, captured an ECAC Championship, and he ends his career as the winingest men’s basketball coach in Alvernia history. Prior to his time at Alvernia, Miller went 145-31 (.824) as the head coach at Reading (PA) HS, where he coached future NBA player and UConn standout Donyell Marshall.
Miller, Jr is an Alvernia alum who has been on his father’s staff since 2018. He is the career leader in 3 pointers made at AU.
An official announcement on these moves are expected shortly.
