I can confirm that Buffalo State has made a change in leadership in their men’s basketball program, and Fajri Ansari is no longer the head coach.
Ansari, the long-time head coach of the Bengals, went 201-250 (.446) in his nineteen years at Buffalo State. The Bengals have struggled lately however, going 1-24 this season, and 1-23 in 2022-23.
During his tenure at the school, Ansari led his squad to nine SUNYACÂ post-season tournament births, as well as the 2010-11 SUNYAC Championship and a run to the NCAA Sweet 16.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
