I can confirm that Rick Van Pelt is no longer serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Division III Messiah University.
Van Pelt, a Messiah alum (’91), led the Falcons for 22 seasons, compiling a 276-265 (.510) record. Before taking over as head coach, he spent four years (1999-2003) as an assistant with the program. During his tenure, he earned Conference Coach of the Year honors twice and guided the team to three NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
