D3 Nichols College will open as head basketball coach Brock Erickson is headed to UTRGV, where he will become the associate head coach.

Erickson had spent the past three seasons at Nichols, where he put together a gaudy 73-14 (.839) record. He led his 2022-23 squad to a 26-6 (14-2 CCC) record and advanced to the NCAA D3 Elite Eight.

Prior to his time with the Bison, Erickson served as a D1 assistant at UIC, Bryant, Kent State, and Iona.

Erickson is the second small college head coach to make the move to D1 today, as NJCAA D1 Indian Hills CC head coach Josh Sash is headed to Drake. More on that one HERE.
