D3 DIRT: NYU to hire Patriot League assistant as new Head Coach

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

I have heard from multiple sources that NYU will hire Colgate assistant Dave Klatsky as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Klatsky, who played at Penn, had been an assistant at Colgate for the past eleven seasons. The Raiders have won 176 games during his time on the bench, and have captured three out of the last four Patriot League Championships. The 2019-20 squad set program records with 25 overall wins as well 14 PL wins.

Before being hired at Colgate, Klatsky spent four seasons as an assistant at D3 Stevens Tech (NJ). He also worked in the private sector immediately following his graduation from Penn.

Klatsky beat out two Ivy League assistants for the job – Harvard’s Donnie Guerinoni and Yale’s Justin Simon.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
