I can confirm through multiple sources that D3 Oberlin College (OH) will name hire SUNY Canton’s Shiva Senthil as their new head men’s basketball coach.

Senthil has spent the past three seasons as the head coach at SUNY Canton, where he put together a 29-25 (.537) record (his team only played one game in 2020-21 due to COVID). He led the program to its first-ever NCAA Tournament berth as his team captured the 2020 North Atlantic Conference championship.

Prior to taking over at Canton, Senthil had been an assistant at Chicago, Clarkson, and SUNY Purchase.

Senthil beat out two current Ivy League assistants, and one more D3 head coach for the job.

An official announcement is expected in the next few days.
