Andrew Kettel has been named the new head men’s basketball coach at Keystone College, announced on Friday.
Kettel arrives at Keystone after serving as head boys basketball coach at Scranton Prep for 10 years. Under Kettel, the Cavaliers won eight District 2 championships, seven Lynett Memorial Tournament championships and three Lackawanna League Division I titles.
With Scranton Prep, Kettel posted a 202-56 record and is 279-127 overall, including six seasons at Lackawanna Trail.
“My family and I are very excited about the opportunity to join Keystone College,” expressed Kettel. “I would like to thank President Mr. John Pullo, Vice President Mr. Stu Renda, and Athletic Director Mr. Scott Gower for putting their trust in me to lead the men’s basketball program.”
Kettel also established the Coaches vs. Cancer initiative and fundraiser in Northeast Pennsylvania and has helped raise more than $3 million for the American Cancer Society.
Kettel inherits a Keystone program that reached the 2023 CSAC title game for the first time in a decade. The Giants finished 14-14 (8-6 CSAC) in 2022-23 and had three All-CSAC performers.
