Washington College Men’s Basketball head coach Corey Begly has named Chris King as the new assistant head coach for the Shoremen.
“We are thrilled to welcome Coach Chris King to the Flock,” said Coach Begly. “Chris not only is a fantastic coach, but an even better person. His experience and recruiting expertise will help us hit the ground running as we begin a new era of Washington College Men’s Basketball.”
King comes to the Eastern Shore from his native Massachusetts where has spent the last five years coaching at the high school and collegiate level. He graduated from Springfield College in 2019 and began coaching at Longmeadow High School in Massachusetts. After a season as an assistant, he was named head coach of the Junior Varsity team at Longmeadow.
In Winter of 2021, King was named assistant coach at Westfield State University before heading back to the Springfield area as an AAU program director. In 2022, he returned to Springfield College as a graduate assistant coach while also completing his master’s.
