Daily Dirt – 10/22/13

Practice is in full swing, but there is still movement out there. A few things that I’ve heard…

• George Washington assistant Pete Strickland has left the staff. Apparently he has cited personal reasons for the decision. He had been at GW since 2011, and was an assistant at NC State before that. He also spent seven seasons (1999-2005) as the head coach at Coastal Carolina. No word on a replacement yet.

• I can confirm that Keystone College (PA) head coach Nevada Smith has resigned to become the head coach of the Rio Grande Vipers (NBA D-League). In his two seasons at Keystone, Smith compiled a 39-16 record. It sounds like assistant Brad Cooper will take over as the interim head coach at Keystone.

• I have heard that Westfield State (MA) assistant Chris Oroszko has accepted an assistant position at American International College (MA). Last season was his first at Westfield State. He was previously the head women’s coach at Anna Maria (MA).
