Daily Dirt – 10/5/11

A bunch of small college movement that I wanted to keep everyone updated on….

I’ve heard that former Syracuse player Gene Waldron is involved with an assistant spot at Cazenovia College (NY). Waldron scored 950 points for the Orange from 1980-1984. He played professionally in England after graduation, and has worked as the color guy on Syracuse radio broadcasts.

Brian Stamme has been named as an assistant coach at Clackamas CC (OR). Stamme spent the past six years at Lane CC (OR). He was a manager for the University of Oregon Men’s team before that.

I’ve heard the former Newbury College (MA) head coach Evan O’Brien has ended up on the staff as an assistant at Framingham State (MA). O’Brien was 24-53 in his three seasons at Newbury.

Staying with the Framingham State – Newbury connection…..looks like former Framingham State assistant Mark Holmes has joined the staff at Newbury. He will be an assistant to new head coach Jelani Townsell. Holmes has also been an assistant at Ben Franklin Institute.

One more New England tid bit….former ABA and NBA player Bruce Seals will join the staff at Emmanuel College (MA). Seals played for the Utah Stars (ABA) and the Seattle Supersonics (NBA) from 1973-1978. He had been a long-time assistant at neighboring Emerson College.
