Last week of the regular season for the DIII’s out there….things will start heating up soon! Here’s what I’ve got for today….

Add another name to the search at Idaho State. I published my list of potential candidates last week (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/3dc19d1c/idaho-state-search/…) – now I’ve heard from a great source that Utah State assistant Chris Jones is in the mix. Jones has spent the past four seasons at USU. I’ve heard that he has already spoken to representatives from Idaho State. I’ve also heard that while the search is in full swing, no hiring will be made until after the season. There has been some speculation that the position has already been offered to someone, but I have heard that is not the case.

Illinois AD Mike Thomas was asked about Bruce Weber’s future this weekend, and remained non-committal. He spoke on WDWS-1400 AM and talked about being relevant both in the Big 10 and on the national scene. Apparently he is going to wait until after the season to evaluate the program and Weber’s future. This is definitely a situation to keep an eye on.

I’ve heard some grumblings down at Florida Atlantic regarding the status of head coach Mike Jarvis. Sounds like he was promised a contract extension last spring – he still has not received one. According to people down there, Jarvis is really not sure if he will be retained or not. Jarvis is 52-67 in his 3+ years in Boca including a 21-win campaign last year.
