Last week we had some “dirt” from Maine (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/8be484d3/daily-dirt-2-12-14/…)…. Today we head south to New York for a few tid bits….

• Merchant Marine head coach Danny Nee was suspended indefinitely last month. Assistant coach David Muchnick has been coaching the team since January 18th. There is no word as to whether he will be retained at the end of the season or not. Nee is in his 4th season at the school (46-45). He is the former head coach at Nebraska, Ohio, Robert Morris, and Duquesne.

• Long-time Yeshiva University head coach Jonathan Halpert is out at the conclusion of the season. In his 41 years at the school, he holds a 415-530 record (as of 2/20). Apparently he has been informed by the university that his contract will not be renewed for next year.

DIII conference tournaments start next week, so I definitely expect the DIII dirt to start to fly, with the I’s and II’s soon to follow….
