Daily Dirt – 3/13/13

I am not a very religious man, but I’ve been watching this chimney all day! This is a very interesting process – looking forward the fourth ballot which is due in about an hour. Here are a few things that I’ve heard while waiting for the white smoke…

• It sounds like Warren Wilson head coach Greg Neeley will become the next head coach at Piedmont College. In his only season at WWC, Neely led his squad to the USCAA National Championship – they won their final and finished 19-10. Neely would replace Mark Bollinger who resigned in February.

• I have heard that Dennis Sims has retired at Copiah-Lincoln CC (MS). He had spent the past 17 years at the school, and has been a 5-time Coach of the Year winner.

• Speaking of Mississippi JC’s… I have heard that Northeast CC (MS) head coach David Robbins has stepped down and will assume the role of athletic director. No word yet on his replacement, but I’ve heard that assistant Nick Coln is in the mix.

• Keep an eye out for my list of candidates at Siena – should be done with it shortly…
