A couple things to start off the day…
• The “hot” name at East Tennessee State right now is Wichita assistant Steve Forbes. Forbes, a former assistant to Bruce Pearl at Tennessee, compiled a 61-6 record as a head coach at Northwest Florida State before joining the Shockers staff in 2013. He has also been an assistant at Texas A&M and the head coach at Barton County CC. Another name floating around ETSU is current Alabama associate head coach John Brannen. Before coming to Alabama, Brannen was an assistant to Anthony Grant at VCU – during that time, current ETSU AD Richard Sander was the at AD VCU.
• A bunch of names starting to surface at Northern Kentucky. The one that I’ve heard the most is Xavier assistant coach Travis Steele. He has been at Xavier for the past seven years, and also worked as an administrative staffer at Indiana. I’ve also heard acting Cincinnati head coach Larry Davis’ name mentioned here. Xavier and Cincinnati are both located about 15 minutes from NKU.
