A few things that I’ve heard so far today…
• I keep hearing Linc Darner’s name mentioned at Ball State. Darner currently has his squad in the NCAA DII Elite Eight. He is an Indiana guy – he played for Gene Keady at Purdue, and had a lot of success as the head coach at St. Joseph’s (IN).
• Bucknell’s Dave Paulsen has been a “hot” name at Northwestern. Many have already given the job to Duke’s Chris Collins, but keep an eye on Paulsen. His squad won the Patriot league this season while winning 28 games (he had won 25 in each of the past two seasons). He won a DIII National Championship at Williams in 2003 – the president at Williams at the time was Morton Schapiro – he is now the president at Northwestern.
• Multiple sources have told me to keep an eye on the situation at Furman. It sounds like an announcement there is imminent.
• Ole Miss assistant Sergio Rouco is rumored to be involved with the Georgia Southern job. He is in his second year at Ole Miss – before that, he spent five seasons as the head coach at Florida International.
