Everyone has been talking about Indiana State’s Josh Schertz to St. Louis for weeks now – sounds like St. Louis is just waiting for the Sycamores to get bounced from the NIT (or win the NIT) to make an official announcement. Stay tuned…
I have heard that TurnkeyZRG has the search at Fresno State. Also sounds like Collegiate Sports Associates (CSA) has the Tulane women’s search. My up-to-date search firm list is HERE.
Sounds like the leader in the clubhouse to replace Keith Dambrot is current Duquesne associate head coach Dru Joyce III. Joyce played for Dambrot in HS at St. Vincent-St. Mary (with LeBron James), and also played for him at Akron. He joined the Duquesne staff in 2022 after a stint on Dennis Gates’ staff at Cleveland State. Stay tuned on this one.
A hot name making the rounds at Loyola Maryland is University of Maryland assistant coach Greg Manning. He’s a Loyola alum, who spent five seasons on the Greyhounds staff (2008-13) following his graduation. He has been at Maryland since 2018, and also worked at Siena (2013-18).
Southern Illinois has started interviews. A name that I keep hearing here is Missouri assistant Kyle Smithpeters The Illinois native and SIU alum has been at Mizzou for two seasons and had a ton of success as a JUCO head coach – he went 241-73 at John A Logan from 2012-22. Working on a few more names as we speak.
Sportico confirmed that Dan Monson’s run to the NCAA Tournament won’t save his job. “Asked by Sportico whether the conference title—or even more postseason success later this month—could prompt the school to revaluate the decision, an athletics spokesman said, “No.” The “decision was made with a possible postseason run in mind,” he added. Since being fired on 3/11 (and being allowed to coach the rest of the season), Monson’s squad ripped off 3 straight wins to capture the Big West tourney and advance to the big dance. They are currently 21-14 and play Arizona tomorrow.
Jason Whitney is no longer the head basketball coach at Corning CC (NY). He went 8-16 (6-8) in his only season at the school. No official announcement has been made yet.

Ian DelleChiaie has resigned as an assistant coach at D3 Wentworth. He had spent the past six seasons on Arlen Galloway’s staff there, and served as a coaching intern and video coordinator at Holy Cross before that.
