Daily Dirt – 3/25/15

Some JC + DIII “Dirt”…

• I have heard that Hagerstown CC head coach Denny Mortimer has resigned. He had been at HCC since 2013 – he was an assistant at Garden City CC (KS) before that. There was no reason given for his resignation.

• Staying in Maryland…I have heard that head coach LeShawn Hammett has departed Cecil CC. Sounds like he will be headed to a USCAA school in Pennsylvania.

• Some more names in the mix at DIII Goucher College…I have heard that two alums are involved here. It sounds like former Jacksonville assistant Trevor Quinn (’05), and Mt. Carmel HS head coach Tom Rose (’95) are both in what is believed to be the final group. Rose also served as the associate head coach at Goucher before he took over at Mt. Carmel. I can also confirm that former Holy Cross assistant Kevin Robinson is no longer involved here.

• It sounds like DIII Otterbein has wrapped up their Skype interviews and will begin to bring candidates to campus next week. Apparently there were ten interviewed through Skype. Some other things going on here. Will pass it along as I hear more…

• A JC in Alabama has opened…more on this soon….
