Some things that I’ve heard today….

Baker College head coach Brett Ballard has resigned and will join Danny Manning’s staff at Tulsa. He had spent two seasons at Baker, and was a Kansas staffer before that. I’ve also heard that Missouri State assistant Steve Woodberry (Kansas ’94) is in the mix for a spot on the Tulsa staff. He has been at Missouri State since 2006.

I keep hearing Montana head coach Wayne Tinkle’s name when people talk about Colorado State. Tinkle’s Grizzlies were 25-7 (15-) this past season, and lost to Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He has 116 wins in his 6 seasons at Montana.

Georgia head coach Mark Fox WILL NOT be the head coach at Kansas State. From his Twitter – “I grew up in Kansas but I plan to grow old in Georgia. Any rumor mentioning me w/another job is false. GO DAWGS!”

Union County CC head coach Joan Sanchez is in the mix for the Raritan Valley CC job. Last year was his first at Union – he has also been the head coach at DII Concordia (NY) and an assistant at Felician, John Jay, Hostos CC, and CCNY

A couple of small college situations to keep an eye on… Chowan (NC) and Lincoln (IL). Where there’s smoke, there’s fire….
