Happy Good Friday! Here are a few things that I’ve heard…

• South Dakota State head coach Scott Nagy was on campus at Ball State yesterday. He has been HC at SDSU for the past 18 seasons (52 wins over the past two seasons – 341 total). His name has been very hot at BSU over the past few days.

• I have heard that James Madison has started talking about a new contract for Matt Brady. His current contract is set to expire (he was not offered an extension prior to this season). After leading his squad to the CAA title and an NCAA berth, it sounds like he will be looking for a bump in his $290,000 salary + at least four years.

• It is looking like a two horse race at Longwood. I keep hearing that Wake Forest assistant Rusty LaRue and Old Dominion assistant Jim Corrigan are the front runners. The search is being run by former Wake Forest head coach Dave Odom and sounds like it will be wrapping up soon.

• I love when guys submit info or questions – my one request…PLEASE leave a valid email address. Some ass-hat decided to tell me yesterday that Niagara’s Joe Mihalich is a Philly guy with no connection to DeMatha (MD) [I mentioned how he and Hofstra AD Jeff Hathaway have a link through DeMatha]. Yes, Mihalich is a Philly guy, AND YES he was Morgan Wooten’s assistant at DeMatha in the late 70’s (right around the time that Hathaway was there). My point here is that I try hard to respond to every question or comment that has been added. If you are going to make a comment, at least leave a valid email address so I can respond. Also, a word of advice to the submitter from yesterday…if you are going to come to a gun fight, do not come armed with only a knife!
