Here’s what I’ve got so far ths morning….
Former Tennessee star Dane Bradshaw has met with new UT head coach Cuonzo Martin about a spot on his staff. Bradshaw played for the Vols from 2003-07 and is on their All-Century team. He has no coaching experience, but it’s always good to have an alum on staff.
I’ve heard that former Dayton assistant Jon Borovich will not be going to Georgia Tech with Brian Gregory. He will most likely end up on Mark Montgomery’s staff at Northern Illinois. Borovich was a graduate assistant at Michigan State when Montgomery was an assistant there.
The search at Fairfield is really heating up. There are a bunch of people who are saying that LIU head coach Jim Ferry is the leader here. Interviews are still on going however. Others that have interviewed are former Virginia and Depaul head coach Dave Leito (yesterday) and St. Peter’s head coach John Dunne. According to my sources, current assistant Bob Simon will interview today. There also appears to be a mystery candidate here (I don’t think it’s UConn’s Andre LaFleur like some have speculated). We’ll have to wait to see how this plays out.
Since I posted about Florida Gulf Coast last night, I have gotten the info on the other two candidates. I mentioned that I confirmed FSU assistant Andy Enfield was one of the three finalists. Since last night, I have had two seperate sources both tell me that Florida assistant Richard Pitino and Clemson associate head coach are the other two in the mix. It seems like Enfield is the leader at this point.
