It’s starting to get crazy in the "dirt" world, my phone has been blowing up over the past week – so much going on! As a reminder, feel free to text me with any "dirt" – 208.495.4129. Here are a few things that I’ve heard (much more coming)…

• I have now heard from a bunch of guys that Holy Cross AD Nate Pine will use a search firm as he works to replace recently fired Milan Brown. This is a big hire for Pine – his first since taking over last year, and I guess he wants to make sure that he covers all of his bases. Lots of speculation on which way he will go on this – I’ll keep you updated as I hear more.

• Big game on Wednesday in the A-10 opening round where George Mason takes on Fordham. Lots of smoke signals coming out of both camps…looks like there could be an announcement from one of them as early as Thursday.

• I mentioned Monte Ross’ contract situation at Delaware last week (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/6d901963/delaware-dirt/…). Delaware was KO’d from the CAA tourney on Saturday by Northeastern, and there still has not been any announcement either way by UD. It sounds like a letter of support that was signed by the state of Delaware’s NAACP’s chapter, UD’s Black Student Union, the Delaware Black Caucus and the president of the AFL-CIO was sent supporting Ross. There is some speculation now that he may in fact receive an extension. It sounds like we will have some sort of resolution in the next few days.

• DII Northwest Oklahoma State will announce there new coach at a press conference tomorrow morning. It looks like they have moved quickly to replace Andrew Brown who was released last Monday. I believe I know who the new coach is, just waiting for confirmation. Will bring it to you as soon as I have it.
