Daily Dirt – 3/10/17

Some Friday morning quick hitters…

  • Heard some reports of former Rutgers head coach Mike Rice being involved at Quinnipiac. I’ve been told by a great source that it’s “fake news”…
  • Before becoming the head coach at Missouri, Kim Anderson had won a National Championship at DII Central Missouri. Now that he’s a free agent, word on the street is that DII Pittsburg State (KS) will make a run at him. Pitt State is a member of the MIAA (same league as Central Missouri), and AD Jim Johnson was the commissioner of the league when Anderson was coaching at Central Missouri
  • Hot name at Cleveland State is Wyoming assistant coach Jermaine Kimbrough. He spent 2006-14 as an assistant at CSU before moving on to Nevada and now Wyoming. He is a Cleveland native who was very popular on campus during his tenure with Gary Waters. Still waiting to confirm the search firm on this one.
  • Sounds like DIII Stockton University interim head coach Scott Bittner may keep his gig for at least one more year. I’ve heard that the school is focused on their AD search right now, and that there is no imminent change planned for the men’s basketball program.
