Here’s what I’ve heard so far today…
• I blogged yesterday that I had heard Richmond assistant Kevin McGeehan was the choice at Campbell (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/841999f7/campbell-rumor/…). I can now confirm that – there will be 2:30pm press conference this afternoon to make the official announcement.
• Last night, I mentioned the finalists at Furman and said that I believed Colorado State assistant Niko Medved was the choice (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/7c5bf474/furman-rumors/…) . I can now confirm that as well – I have heard that the official statement will be released shortly.
• San Diego State assistant Tony Bland has accepted the associate head coach spot on Andy Enfield’s staff at USC. He joins Pepperdine assistant Jason Hart as Enfield’s first two hires. Bland’s package is expected to be around $300,000 (with incentives).
• I have heard that Cal Poly assistant Omar Lowery will be headed to San Jose state to join Dave Wojcik new staff there. Lowery had been at Cal Poly for the past four seasons and has also served as an assistant at Texas State and Eastern New Mexico.
• I can confirm that Pima CC (AZ) has hired Brian Peabody as their new basketball coach. He is a long-time HS coach in the Tucson area, and has also been an assistant at Western Carolina. Peabody served an earlier stint as the head coach at Pima for one season (2003-04).
