A few things to kick-off the week…
I have heard that Alabama State is just about done, with announcement coming very shortly. Sounds like the leader here is current South Carolina State head coach Tony Madlock. More on this one soon. *UPDATE: This is now official. Madlock is the new head coach at Alabama State. More HERE.
It sounds like a bunch of Zoom’s have occurred at Elon. Some of the names that I have heard are Tennessee associate head coach Justin Gainey (a former Elon assistant), Arizona State assistant Joel Justus (a former Elon assistant), current Elon assistant Jonathan Holmes, and “several” current head coaches. I have also heard that former Tulsa head coach Frank Haith has not Zoomed yet, but may be invloved.
I have heard that Zooms at D2 Angelo State wrap up today. Some names making the rounds here are Lamar assistant Charles Harrall, current Angelo State associate head coach David Lewis, Sam Houston State associate head coach Chris Mudge, Troy assistant Mike Worley, and 2-3 others (including current head coaches). More on this one as I hear it.
Interviews at D2 Anderson University wrapped up last Friday. I have heard that current assistant Ben Johnson interviewed, along with a current D2 head coach, a current NAIA head coach, and at least one D1 assistant. This one could be announced mid-week.
Multiple sources have told me the leader for the vacant job at NJCAA East Central CC is current Blinn College assistant Dylan Shields. Before coming to Blinn three seasons ago, Shields was an assistant at East Central. *UPDATE: This is also now official. Shields in the new head coach at ECCC. More HERE.
