A bunch of things that I’ve heard…

I can confirm that Army assistant Zak Boisvert is headed to Indiana State. Boisvert had been at Army since 2016, and has also worked at Maine, Iona, and FDU. An official announcement is expected shortly.

Word on the street is that Texas A&M University-Kingsville head coach Johnny Estelle will join the staff at Lamar. He and new LU head coach Alvin Brooks had previously served as assistants together at Houston. Estelle has put together a 98-89 (.524) record during his 7-seasons at TAMUK.

It sounds like Justin Gainey will be joining Rick Barnes staff at Tennessee. Gainey had been at Marquette for the past four seasons, and was an assistant at Appalachian State before that. He played collegiately at NC State, where he also worked in an administrative role on Sidney Lowe’s staff.

A bunch of people have asked me today about the job posting at Northwestern. The opening is a result of Emmanuel Dildy heading to Oklahoma to join new head coach Porter Moser’s new staff. Dildy had previously worked for Moser at Loyola from 2013-16.

The hot name right now in the search for a new head coach at Delaware State is Delaware Blue Coats (NBA G League) assistant coach Xavier Silas. The former standout at Colorado and Northern Illinois had a long professional career after graduation, which included stints with the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Boston Celtics. More on this one as I hear it.

An interesting name that I’ve been told to keep an eye on at Western Carolina is new College of Charleston assistant Justin Gray. He has been with Pat Kelsey since 2019, and recently made the move from Winthrop to C of C with him. Working on more names here as well.

Keep an eye on long-time South Plains head coach Steve Green making a move to Texas Tech. He and new Tech head coach Mark Adams are long-time friends. It sounds like if Green joins the staff, it would most likely be in administrative role.
