A few things to start the week…
• I have heard that Stephen F. Austin assistant head coach Brette Tanner will not be a candidate to replace Danny Kaspar at SFA, and will instead become an assistant at Abilene Christian. He had been on the SFA staff for the past seven seasons. I have also heard that SFA assistant Talvin Hester will follow Kaspar to Texas State.
• I blogged on Friday that I had heard Kennesaw State had hired Brian Lawhon as an assistant (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/5d7796d7/daily-dirt-ii-4-12-13/…). I have now heard that Kennesaw will fill the final position on their staff with former Lipscomb assistant Ryan Cahak. He joined the Lipscomb staff prior to last season – he was a GA at Tennessee prior to that.
• I have heard that Virginia State head coach Darryl Jacobs has signed a two year extension. The new pact will run him through the 2016 season. He just completed his second season at VSU – he has a 199-197 career record in 14 seasons as a head coach (VSU, Montclair State, Lehman, Felician, and Clark Atlanta).
