Daily Dirt – 4/20/11

See my earlier blogs today about the situations at Stetson and Eastern Michigan – it looks like both schools are ready to hire. Here are a few more things that I’ve heard….

IPFW head coach Dane Fife is in the mix to join Tom Izzo’s staff at Michigan State. Fife has been involved with a bunch on mid-major searches this off-season, but looks like MSU may be where he ends up.

As I mentioned earleir in the week, UConn director of baskeball administration Glen Miller will be elevated to assistant coach – he was rumored to be involved with the Colgate job, but has since told them he’s staying at UConn. I’ve heard that former UConn players Ricky Moore and Kevin Feeeman are the two leaders to replace Miller in the administrative role. Moore spent this past season as an assistant at Dartmouth – he is believed to be the leader for the job.

I’ve heard Penn State assistant coach Lewis Preston’s name come up multiple times now in the past two days with regared to the vacant Kennesaw State position. He has been an assistant at Penn State for the past three years, and has also worked for Billy Donovan at Florida, and Mike Brey at Notre Dame. He would bring some pretty good credentials to the KSU gig.
