Daily Dirt – 4/25/11

A pretty quiet post-Easter Monday here at the HD World Headquarters. Here are some of the things that I’ve heard so far today….

Wofford head coach Mike Young is apparently the "hot" name at George Mason right now. I’ve heard his name mentioned from three different sources today (although two of them are tight). Young is a Virginia guy and has led his squad to back-to-back SoCon titles.

I mentioned the other day that former Colgate head coach Emmett Davis is involved with an assistant spot at Siena. It turns out, he is also talking to Doug Wojcik about a spot on his staff at Tulsa. Davis and Wojcik were assistants together at Navy in the 1990’s.

Florida Atlantic assistant Matt McCall is going to join the revamped staff at Florida. McCall was the DBO at Florida from 2004-2008 before heading to FAU. He was at UF for both of the Gators’ national championships. He would join former Arkansas coach John Pelphrey and former St. John’s coach Norm Roberts on Donovan’s new staff.

Shenandoah University has scheduled a 4:00pm press conference for Wednesday to announce their new men’s basketball coach. Not sure who the choice here will be, but I’ll post the official announcement as soon as it’s released on Wednesday.
