Pretty quiet day so far. Here are a few things….

• Mississippi State staff update….I can confirm that New head coach Rick Ray will retain assistant George Brooks. Brooks is a former MSU player who has been on the staff for the past two seasons. Before returning to his alma mater, he spent 12 seasons as the head coach at Meridian CC. I’ve also heard that Nebraska assistant Wes Flanigan is close to joining Rick Ray’s staff. Flanigan has been at Nebraska for the past two seasons. He has also worked at UAB and UALR. He is familiar with the state of Mississippi – he spent five seasons as an assistant at Northwest Mississippi CC.

• I’ve heard a couple names mentioned when talking about the vacant job at Ripon. Loras assistant Ryan Kane and former Cardinal Stritch assistant Krayton Nash have both been mentioned as candidates. They are both Wisconsin guys with a bunch of DIII experience.
