Daily Dirt – 4/6/20

Some things I’ve heard while continuing to adjust to the new normal…

  • It sounds like NC State Director of Basketball Operations Travis Hackert is joining Takayo Siddle’s new staff at UNC Wilmington. Hackert has spent the past three seasons at NC State in administrative roles, and served in similar capacities previously at UNCW under Kevin Keatts. He and Siddle have worked together at both places. More on the rest of the Seahawks staff shortly.

  • I have heard that Andrew Wilson and Jon Cremins will both be joining Mark Byington at James Madison. They had both been assistants at Georgia Southern under Byington, and the three of them had been together on Bobby Cremins staff at College of Charleston.

  • It sounds like the search at D2 Concordia University Saint Paul almost over. I have heard that the top two here are both current head coaches – a D3 head coach from Minnesota, and an NAIA head coach from North Dakota. *UPDATE: the D3 head coach from Minnesota got it. Story HERE.*

  • The search at D2 Lander College (SC) is done and the announcement could be made as early as this week. It sounds like Lincoln Memorial assistant Omar Wattad is the leader here. More on this one as I hear it. *UPDATE: It’s now official – Wattad has been hired. Story HERE.*

  • The search at D3 Hiram College (OH) is down to the final three. The names that I’ve heard are: Case Western (OH) assistant Mike Fitzpatrick, Rochester assistant Taylor Roth, and a current D3 head coach. Heard this one will be wrapped up by the end of the week.

  • The up-to-date list of coaching changes at ALL levels can be found HERE.
