Daily Dirt – 4/24/17

A few things to start the week…

  • I can confirm that Southern Utah assistant coach Patrice Days is headed to Coastal Carolina. Before joining the SUU staff prior to last season, he was an assistant at Wright State. He has also been an assistant at Abilene Christian and a GA at Charlotte. It sounds like he has replaced Stacey Palmore on Cliff Ellis’ staff.

  • I can also confirm that Johnny Brown has departed the University of the Incarnate Word staff. He had been at UIW since 2015, and has had a ton of stops over his 20+ year career. I have also heard that his replacement has been hired, but won’t be made official for another week or so.

  • I have heard that four on campus interviews have been scheduled so far at Johns Hopkins University. The names that I’ve heard are: Mike Blaine (Head Coach Medaille College – JHU alum),  Joe Burke (Head Coach Skidmore College), Dan Engelstad (Head Coach Southern Vermont College), and Josh Loeffler (Assistant Coach Loyola University Maryland). I have not heard a timeline of the interviews yet.

  • It sounds like DIII Shenandoah has made their choice and an announcement is expected as early today. The final six included a current DIII head coach from out of the region, and a JC head coach from the area. Possibly a DI assistant in the final group as well. More on this one once it’s announced.
