A few things that I’ve heard…

Cole Dewey, who resigned as the head coach at Garden City CC (KS) a few weeks ago is now confirmed to be headed to Texas A&M Corpus Christi as an assistant. The official announcement on his hiring will be made shortly. Dewey spent the 2020-21 season at GCCC, and was the head coach at Otero Junior College (CO) before that.

Idaho State assistant Chris McMillian will be hired as an assistant on Tony Barbee’s staff at Central Michigan. McMillian had been at ISU for the past two seasons, and has also worked at Illinois Chicago, Hawaii, Centenary, and Southern Idaho. The official announcement is expected shortly.

Word on the street is that the leader for the vacant Special Assistant to Men’s Basketball Head Coach & Recruiting Coordinator at Purdue Fort Wayne is NAIA Lincoln College (IL) head coach Pat Lepper. Lepper has been the head coach at LC for the past nine seasons, and played collegiately at Fort Wayne. This one could be announced soon.

I’ve heard from multiple sources that NJCAA Lincoln Trail College is focused on Howard College (TX) assistant Junsie Cotten in their search for a new head coach. Cotten had formerly served as the head coach at LTC (2005-10), and also as the head coach at Panola College (2010-15). Sounds like the search here will be wrapped up soon.

Interviews at D3 Bowdoin are done. Announcement could be made in the next few days. The five who I have heard are in the mix can be found in Monday’s DAILY DIRT HERE.
