A few small college search updates…

According to multiple sources, the search at D3 RIT is down to five. Names that I have heard include former Canisius head coach Reggie Witherspoon, former Loyola (MD) assistant Matt Miller, Christopher Newport assistant head coach Dom Parker, Rochester assistant Chris Manning, and a current Liberty League head coach. One more former D1 HC from the area could be lurking as well.

It sounds like D3 Nichols College had over 110 applicants for their head coaching spot which opened when Brock Erickson departed for UTRGV back in April. It sounds like the field has been narrowed after the initial Zoom round. Some names that I’ve heard here include Dartmouth DBO Garvin McAlister (a former Nichols assistant), Brandeis assistant Irving Eggleston, Tufts assistant James Holmes, A current MASCAC head coach, a current NAC head coach, and “multiple” D1 assistants. Will roll with more once I can confirm a final group.

I have heard that the search at D3 Bridgewater is done. Sounds like they’re going with a current D3 assistant from the list that I published in the Daily Dirt back on 5/1. More on this one when I can…

From earlier this morning…D2 Georgian Court will name former Robert Morris assistant Dave Fedor as their new head coach. More on that move -> D2 DIRT.

I have heard that D3 SUNY Morrisville assistant Mike Sugamosto is expected to be named as the next head coach at Corning Community College (NY). Sugamosto has been the lead assistant at Morrisville for the past two seasons. He also worked as an assistant at Cazenovia College for two seasons, and also spent four years as the General Manager/Managing Partner of the Syracuse Stallions, a minor league basketball team in the TBL.
