Crazy day today – in an all day meeting. I got away for a few minutes…

• Two names that I keep hearing at Mississippi Valley State are current interim head coach Marcus Thomas and Wiley College (TX) head coach Andre Payne. Thomas served as the associate head coach at MVSU under former head coach Chico Potts for the past two seasons. Payne has been at Wiley since 2006, and is also the AD there.

• There are a bunch of names starting to emerge in the search to replace the retiring Mike Griffin at RPI. The names that I have heard the most are: Brown assistant Paul Halas, Albany associate head coach Chad O’Donnell, and Stevens Tech head coach Bobby Hurley. Halas and Hurley are both RPI graduates. O’Donnell has been at nearby Albany for the past nine seasons, and has also worked at Holy Cross, New Hampshire, the College of Charleston, and Robert Morris.

• I can confirm that Matt Neil is no longer the head coach at Hope College (MI). He had compiled an 88-26 record during his four seasons at the school. No word yet on why he departed.
