A few things that I’ve heard…

Hot name making the rounds right now for the vacant assistant spot at Wisconsin is D2 St. Leo head coach Lance Randall. The Wisconsin native is in his second stint at St. Leo and has also been the head coach at D3 Webster, and then D2 Lindenwood. More on this one as I hear it. (UPDATE: This one is now official. More HERE.)

Morehead State is expected to add a current D2 head coach to their staff. More on this when I can…

I can confirm that Queens University of Charlotte will hire Ole Miss GA Adam Short as an assistant. Prior to his time on Chris Beard’s staff, Short spent time as the DBO at SIUE, and as an assistant at Central Missouri and State Fair CC. An official announcement is expected shortly.

Word on the street is that former Marshall and Georgia head coach Ron Jirsa is in the mix to join the staff at Eastern Kentucky. The coaching veteran has also been an assistant at UNCG, Tennessee Tech, Radford, Minnesota, Dayton, Tulsa, VCU, and Delaware.

Multiple sources have told me that NJCAA D1 Harford CC will hire Solomon Zurier as their new head basketball coach. Zurier most recently served as the DBO at USC Upstate. He has also worked as an assistant at D3 St. Mary’s College (MD) and was the head coach at The International Sports Academy in Cleveland. More on this once it’s made official.
