Daily Dirt – 5/17/11

A little late, but here’s today’s dirt…..

Big announcement out of Boston tomorrow…..DIII Emerson College is set to name a former National Coach of the Year as their new head basketball coach. He also took a team to the Final Four. Pretty good get for the small Boston school. More on this when it becomes official.

Staying in Boston, Northeastern associate head coach Pat Duquette is also in the mix at Vermont. He joins Washington assistant Ralph Chillious and Williams head coach Mike Maker who are also in the hunt. I’ve heard that the AD wants to get this done by June 1.

I’ve heard that Wisconsin-Whitewater will name Lou Chapman as an assistant coach. He has been an assistant at Loyola (IL) and GA Whitewater and was most recently the head coach at West Allis (WI) Central HS. He will replace Todd Skirveth who took the job at Monmouth (IL) earlier this spring.

Sounds like Stevens Assistant Coach Dave Klatsky will be hired on the new staff at Colgate. Klatsky and the new head coach Matt Langel are former teammates at Penn. I’ve also heard that Stevens may target Hofstra GA Steve Raisfeld to fill their open assistant spot.
