Daily Dirt – 5/2/14

A few things to start off the day…

• There are four finalists for the vacancy at Thomas College (ME). They are: Peter Mugar (associate head coach Salem State), Geoff Hensley (assistant coach Centre College), Bobby Wheet (assistant coach Wisconsin La Crosse), and Matt Barry (assistant coach Thomas). All four have completed their on campus interviews, and I have heard that the decision will be made by Monday.

• I have heard that former Jacksonville assistant Will Jones could be headed to the College of Charleston. He is a South Carolina native who played at South Carolina State. Jones had been on the JU staff for the past three seasons.

• Speaking of Jacksonville…I have heard that IPFW assistant Azeez Ali has followed his former head coach Tony Jasick to Jacksonville. Ali spent the the past five seasons with Jasick at IPFW and has also worked at Tennessee-Chattanooga and Cecil CC.

• It sounds like Andre Gray, an assistant at UNCW last season is involved with a spot at East Tennessee State. Gray has also been an assistant at Western Carolina and Gardner-Webb.

• Another assistant on the move…Ronnie Hamilton, and assistant to James Dickey at Houston last season could be headed to Middle Tennessee State. The Duke grad has also been an assistant at Tulane and The Citadel.
