Daily Dirt – 5/24/18

Here are a few things that I’ve heard…

  • The Director of Administration for Men’s Basketball job at UAB was posted yesterday. I have heard that the posting is actually a formality and that Blazers head coach Rob Ehsan is just shuffling some titles of current staffers. More when the changes here are official.

  • Iowa State assistant Neill Berry is the leader to replace Mike Morrell on Shaka Smart’s staff at Texas according to a report by Horns247.com. Berry has previously served as an assistant at South Carolina and Western Kentucky and he worked for current Texas assistant Darrin Horn at both spots.

  • Western Connecticut has made their choice. An official announcement is expected in a week or so when the HR process is complete. Great hire here – they got a guy who knows how to win at the DIII level.

  • Vassar College wrapped-up on campus interviews yesterday. The five finalists included two DI assistant coaches, a DIII head coach (from out of the region), and two DIII assistant coaches. I have heard that an announcement could be made as early as next week.

  • Lake Region State College (ND) has hired Grant Sinn as an assistant coach. The former player at IUPUI has spent a year as an assistant at Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Academy. An official announcement is expected shortly.
